The global aviation industry faces a looming shortage of carbon credits to meet operators’ obligations under the CORSIA carbon market. Only a fraction of the volume of credits required has been issued so far, potentially leaving airlines short, as well as threatening the functioning of CORSIA. Airline industry groups are urging governments to authorise projects quickly to ramp up the supply of credits.
