- The size, scope and value of the VCM
- The common criticisms of carbon credits
- Changes currently reshaping the VCM
- Likely evolution of the market
SESSION 4
Take a deep dive into the inner workings of the voluntary markets for carbon credits, to uncover some of the more technical aspects of the market, how it works and how it is evolving.
In this session you will gain:
- The critical elements of the carbon credits markets
- Additionality and why it matters
- The common criticisms and challenges facing the VCM
- The work underway to address perceived shortcomings
- CORSIA and the compliance credit markets
SESSION 5
Build a comprehensive knowledge of the history of United Nations climate negotiations, from the 1990 Rio Earth Summit to the present day and learn about the latest developments and likely evolution.
In this session you will gain:
- The climate negotiations under the UNFCCC
- The significance of 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change
- The Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) process
- Article 6.2 – the UN’s bilateral emissions trading mechanism
- Article 6.4 – the UN’s centralised carbon crediting system
