Carbon Sink

A natural or artificial system that absorbs and stores carbon dioxide, thereby reducing CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. Natural carbon sinks include forests, oceans and soil, while artificial carbon sinks include technologies such as carbon capture and storage.
