Gain a comprehensive oversight of the history of United Nations climate negotiations, from the 1990 Rio Earth Summit to the present day.

This live video training session provides a basic introduction to the history of the United Nations climate negotiations, the milestone climate agreements they have generated along the way, and the important elements of climate action under the UN process.


The module focuses on the Paris Agreement, its core components such as the Nationally Determined Contributions and Articles 6.2 and 6.4, which are set to usher in a system of bilateral emissions trading and a centralised UN carbon crediting system, respectively.

  • A valuable guide to the climate negotiations under the UNFCCC
  • A concise summary of the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change
  • Insight into the Nationally Determined Contributions process
