Voluntary carbon markets have emerged from the ground up, driven by corporate willingness to set, achieve, and demonstrate action to reduce and neutralise emissions in sectors not yet regulated by legally-binding carbon pricing policies. Yet they are complex, fragmented, often unregulated and subject to uncertainty over the environmental integrity of some projects. This course will set out the fundamentals of the voluntary carbon market (VCM) and the detailed elements that matter most.
