Frank Watson is a financial journalist and editor with 22 years’ experience of commodities coverage, specialising in carbon and energy markets.
Frank headed up the European emissions market coverage at commodity news and pricing information company, S&P Global Commodity Insights (formerly Platts) since May 2008, having held the position of Europe Editor on emissions markets since August 2005.
Frank helped develop SPGCI’s coverage of the emerging EU Emissions Trading System and international carbon markets. Frank covered regulatory policy under the EU ETS and global carbon markets, producing independent daily price assessments, market commentary, news and analysis.
Prior to his role at SPGCI, Frank worked for ICIS-LOR, part of Reed Business Information (Reed Elsevier), where he covered petrochemicals markets from 2003-2005. Before that, Frank covered the Brent crude oil markets for AFX News (Agence France-Presse) from 2000-2003, including reporting on precious metals and base metals markets.
Frank holds a BA in Graphic Design with Photography from the University of Wolverhampton and an MSC in Information Systems from the University of Sheffield.
