Paris Agreement

An international treaty on climate change adopted by 196 governments at the COP21 summit in Paris in 2015 under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Signatories agreed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to limit the global average temperature increase to well below 2 degrees Celsius compared with pre-industrial levels, and to pursue a goal of 1.5 degrees C.
